{ mint wedding } S & J Beautiful Wedding

I love weddings, they are such beautiful moments the happy couple wants their friends to be apart of, to share memories with. Yesterday I attended my friend's Shirley & James wedding. The venue was GORGEOUS (and so is the bride!), at Daedong Manor. The room was European style, reminiscence of the Rococo/Victorian era, which I've always loved. The flowers, baby pink roses x white hydrangeas and orchids with mint details, ugh to die for decorations!!

#JCYstyle #10seclookbook on my Instagram.
#JCYstyle #10seclookbook {mintwedding} up on my blog http://bit.ly/mintweddingootd !

Since the venue was so beautiful, I took advantage of it for my #JCYstyle #10seclookbook! 10 seconds videos are short, so I filmed it quickly inside the Diamond Ballroom. Taking photos however, requires more time so that was shot in the hall, which was nice as well. Love the chandeliers on the wall. By accident, my mint dress was similar to the color choice of the bridesmaids dresses and decorations throughout, but hey matching is nice right? :P Lace peplum dresses are nice as it hugs the body, but the peplum gives me some room to eat since it always makes the waist appear smaller ;)

I bought these heels awhile back, but never got a chance to wear them (I don't enjoy walking around on a daily basis in 6" heels thanks), but it matched my outfit. Even my nail polish match by accident XD I love the turn closures on the heels, and of course the pinky nude color!! My favorite type of nude~

For earrings, I used my favorite type - earcuffs! Though after a few hours it starts hurting the top of the ears since its a clasp. So these are better for photos only! The clutch was actually a makeup bag from VS, but I like using it as a clutch better ;) I've always wanted the Cartier bangle, but can't afford to drop $2k like that, so the Michael Kors bangle was very similar. What I love most is that it's two toned - the bangle itself is gold and the details such as the hinge and studs is rose gold. I didn't notice in the store, only when I wore it out, what a lovely surprise!

More photos of the wedding below, and as I edit, they will be posted onto my JCY Photography Page.

{ 166 Houndstooth } Black, White & Red - JCYstyle

Going out with friends for a nice Restaurant Week lunch date calls for a cute ensemble. I pulled out a gathered, classic black & white houndstooth print dress. To make the outfit pop, I added a red belt with gold arrow details, and a matching red handbag. Black, white and red is always a classic and winning color combination!
My first #JCYstyle #10seclookbook! Take a classic black & white outfit and add a hint of red to mix it up! More photos and info on my blog post http://bit.ly/166houndstooth
I had so much fun with the outfit, I decided to do a small 10 seconds lookbook for it. This started off my idea of #JCYstyle - for outfits that don't make my cut of a whole YouTube lookbook, I will try to do a #10secLookbook on instagram and blog. So you can see the outfit in action and how it moves, rather than just still in a photo. Stay tune and follow me on bloglovin' to see more :D

Since the dress was already busy with the pattern and the bow across the bust, I kept the makeup and jewelry simple - a nice bold red lips, a simple Givenchy necklace, and a cute YSL charm bracelet. And finishing off with my favorite Payless black flats with gold toe.

Dress - Forever 21
(similar pattern one, two but both have more interesting back!)
Belt - Wet Seal (similar one, two)
Bag - Korean Boutique (similar)
Flats - Payless
Necklace - Givenchy
Bracelet - YSL Charm Bracelet

Hyuna "Red" Comeback Photos & Makeup Tutorial

Hyuna's my favorite Korean Girl Idol, she has a sexy image but a cute personality. I really loved the alluring makeup for her "Red" Comeback music video teaser, so I decided to try it out! Watch it above!

Face Makeup:
Yaby Foundation - Buff
Etude House CC Cream - Silky
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer - Chocolate (Medium / Deep)

Eye Makeup:
Urban Decay's Naked 2 - Chopper, Pistol, Busted
Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow - 28E

Lips

Actually I filmed this tutorial a few times, (thats why my teaser video had a different look) the first two times was based on the teaser images. However, when the MV teaser came out, I really love that eye makeup more. Having a grayish brown crease over the copper was a lot more interesting than the reddish brown over copper. The Naked 2 Palette had the perfect shades to work with.

I had a lot of fun filming because she had a few different outfit and hair, so I got to pull out my dresses to match hers for each lipstick change I saw in the MV. My favorite part was throwing the fur coat haha. Anyways I hope I did her makeup some justice since it is such a sultry look! It's the perfect night out makeup with the cat eyes and 3 sexy lipcolors to choose from.

More makeup tutorials and lookbooks are coming soon, subscribe to see them xoxo <3 Remember giveaway coming soon ;)

"Hercules" Preview Screening

If you're used to the Disney "Hercules" with statues singing, romance and more (maybe I was because I grew up watching Disney movies :P), don't expect those here. This one is based off Steve Moore's Radical Comics' "Hercules". A lot more action, violence and humor in this than a cartoon, of course.

In my honest opinion, I didn't really like the casting for the character Hercules, but as the movie went on, he did showed to be good choice as a leader type, the ones who says encouraging words to the soldiers. Is it just me, or some of the wall scenes reminds me of Game of Thrones where Khaleesi talks to the unsullied... I think I'm just too much of a GoT fanatic :P

Anyways, I do love the fashion in it, the women's gowns were simple yet gorgeous. Also, the scene where they upgraded the armor and weapons was hilarious - Hercules nephew talks about each piece as being Hercules' accomplishments.

"If the boar hide is indestructible, how did Hercules get it off the boar?"
"With a indestructible sword!"

I also really loved how the seer says he saw his death already, so each time flaming arrows fly towards him he's ready but never gets hit.

The CGI was good too, how shattered pieces fly towards you, but wasn't overdone.

Thanks to my friend Stu for bringing me with him!

Hyuna "A Talk" Comeback Photos & Makeup Tutorial Teaser!

My favorite female Korean Idol is having a solo comeback, finally! She is more of a sexy bombshell, rather than the cute sexy in her "Ice Cream" come back. This is the Hyuna I like ;) I love her with darker hair, so I"m glad her image this time is like this. And of course, I love the eye makeup! So I attempted to do a makeup tutorial of her makeup, but some parts weren't very clear so I am going to redo it the upcoming week. Here's a teaser of it along with two other makeup coming soon to my channel! Subscribe to see them :D

Enjoy more photos from her comeback teaser!

{ The Maxi Dress Style Guide } Mix & Match Lookbook at Poconos, PA

Ever had the dilemma of having to travel light due to the limited amount of luggage space? When I went on a mini getaway to Poconos with my boyfriend, I did, because I brought so much other things for other kinds of shoots and a few pairs of shoes. I didn't have enough room for many beautiful dresses. So I thought, why not take one of the maxi dress I was bringing and change it to 3 different looks? You only need one maxi dress, 3 belts and one top to do this! Plus summer time is the best time to pull out all your maxi dresses ;)

Dress - Forever21 (similar one & two)
Belt - Asos
Handchain - Forever 21 (similar)
Shoes - H&M
Shoulder Chain - Boutique
Golden goddess plays up the golden taupe tone of the chiffon. Pairing the simple strapless dress with shoulder accessories keeps it from being too plain. Being obsessed with body jewelry lately, I matched it with a gold hand chain with robin blue stones, for that little pop of color to the outfit. A caged metal belt pulls all the elements together for a sunset stroll in the park or beach, a perfect vacation outfit. To complete the romantic mood of the outfit, I paired it with a chiffon corsage wedge to add height with comfort.

Dress - Forever21 shortened (similar 1 & similar 2)
Belt - Asos
Clutch - Boutique
Armcuff - Boutique
Heels - Boutique
Necklace - Forever 21 (similar one, two, three)
Grecian Touch was inspired by the drapery of Greek dresses. It's simple, yet can be dressed up or down for any occasion. To achieve this look from a maxi, fold the bust of the dress under and wear the waist of the dress over the bust. Then pull more fabric from the hem under. Hold it in place with a wide belt. Tada~ You now have a nice flowy high low dress! Similar to a wreath, I used a vine like earring that brings the eyes down towards the (intricate necklace. To play up the Grecian touch idea, use) arm cuffs! It's so unique and fun, creating a look that can bring you from day to night when you switch from flats to a sexy, caged heels. It's great for dinner dates or events. Of course no night look is complete without a handy clutch for hiding that change of shoes. I found a leather cutout clutch that goes well with the rest of my accessories.

Top - Charlotte Russe
Skirt - Forever21 Dress folded down (similar)
Clutch - Sephora
Belt - Handmade
Ring - H&M
Shoes - H&M

No summer is complete without some bright colors! Orange Crush plays with the season's hottest color trend. For this, I wore my maxi dress as a skirt by folding the top under the waist and wearing a cropped high neck top. Since I folded the top portion under, the waistline was funky so I used a crystal belt I made to match the gunmetal beads of the collar. A black embellished clutch with silver border compliments with the other ornaments. A strappy wedge shoe ties in with the black accessories. Tying up the hair cleans up the look. What I love most about this out is it's conservative in the front, but sexy in the back with a keyhole, exposing just a little bit of skin. Suitable for a date with your special person, or to wear for a wedding.

"Into The Storm" Preview Screening

I was lucky to have catch the preview screening of "Into the Storm," a few days ago through a friend's invite. (I have not watched "Twister" before, so sorry can't compare the two!) I never heard of this movie before this, and looking it up most of the actors weren't familiar to me. But I thought, hey why not? I like watching these kind of action movies.

Right off the bat, I liked how they started off the film in first person view - through the camera of a high schooler fooling around with his friends outside. Suddenly, the weather changes and causes lightening to strike and black outs to the next scene, were we find out they're dead. From there, the movie was still shot half in first person through the groups of characters we follow in the "documentary" style movie.

Go #IntoTheStorm!
What I like most about this movie is that even though we didn't watch it in 3D, it felt like we did, as if we were riding a simulator ride to go "into the storm". The way the cinematography goes around the tornadoes, or actually in it was really awesome! (Though I wonder if anyone really captured going into a tornado on film for them to know how it's like?) It really kept me wondering what would happen next.

Though some acting were ok, I thought Richard Armitage's acting (he was one of the main character, the dad of the two sons), was really believable. Whereas, there were some others not so much or some parts of the story. But that's not really the main point, I think it's the overall messages in the movie that made the impact. One, was mentioned by the two girl characters who said that we are messing with the earth, so the weather is getting out of hand. The other was for family, friends or even strangers to stick together to get through a tough time, be it a disaster or even an everyday trouble.

They had a lot of comic relief, to help go through all the intense scenes, especially the two crazies who wanted to be YouTube stars by doing crazy things... I was a bit at awe they didn't die after all the things that happened to them in the movie haha. The audience laughed, clapped, gasped and I'm sure teared at certain parts.

Without spoiling anymore, this is definitely a movie to be seen in the theathres, you need the big screen and sound system to fully appreciate the CGI they have done for it. It was a lot better than I expected from the trailer and just looking at their imdb page. Anyways, what I want to say is...

Haha :P

For those that likes these kind of natural disaster, action movies, go check it out! It comes out August 8, 2014.
