{ gothic bunny } halloween 2014 outfit!

Halloween 2014 has finally arrived (well almost passed for me now), and everyone's excitement has been building to the moment of "what will we be!?" Last year I was an angel, and the year before was the KPOP girl group Rania, so I tend to switch from dark to light and now dark again. To be honest, I wasn't very prepared this year. I was busy with my new job and working on YouTube, so didn't really plan out what I would wear. Luckily for me, I had bunny ears and corset laying around, so I threw this outfit together!

I finally tried out NYX's new Vampy lip cream in She Devil, which really goes in creases and doesn't apply that evenly. So for those spots I filled it in with Va Va Violet from Revlon and lined it with NYX's retractable liner in black.

I didn't want to be an over the top "sexy" bunny since I was that for a friend's party before, so I went the classy route and wore a midi bodycon skirt, caged heels and my Dolce & Gabbana clutch. For the glamorous bunny touch, I added the shiny statement necklace. Since it was chilly out, I threw on my new black faux fur jacket I got at a festival event, which I'll post about in another post!

{ like a star } layering nudes on nudes

"Good friends are like stars, you don't always see them, but you know they're always there."

Two weeks ago, I finally met up with my high school close friend, Renee, after loosing contact for about a year as we both became so busy. Once we met, we caught up with each other instantly and talked as if the time gap didn't exist. We talked everything from fashion to life problems, and I knew that we would always be there for each other, just like the quote on friendships.

She was so cute and obsessed over my outfit, and when I ate my spaghetti sauce flew and splat a dot on it and she was about to cry. So adorable!! She happily obliged to help me take a few A LOT shots of my outfit for my blog. It was her first time and she got so into it, that I almost ran out of poses haha

When I got this jacket, it was looser than I imagined. I threw on a belt thinking it would help, but still looked too plain. Luckily for me, I snagged this beautiful camel colored scarf for $5 at Forever21 that picked up on the dark snakeskin design of my ASOS bag. The gold hardware of the bag tied back to my favorite type of sandals - ankle strap with a beautiful gold plate from Express. Somehow, everything fell in place, with a little pop of neon green from the bag strap.

Besides being cute, what I loved about Renee was how creative she was. She willingly helped me film twice because after the first, she realized she could've done better and made me come back down the staircase to film a second time. Viola, the end result is a video we both loved - she incorporated the beautiful interior design of the place which complimented my outfit so well. She even tried a few times to tweak to exactly her imagination. That's what you get when you put two creative people together. However, sorry for the low quality of the images, my camera battery died so had to shoot with the iPhone.

Parisian Dreams - Destination Wedding Style Inspiration

Me modeling for a bridal makeup shoot.
I was inspired by Lover.ly to come up with my destination wedding ensemble, since many people know I just love weddings. When I studied fashion design, the June Bride was always my inspiration as I love making romantic lingerie. I would always jump at the chances of being a bridal model. Now, working as a photographer, I love shooting pre-wedding or even maternity. So of course, it got me thinking, what would I want to wear if I had a chance to travel to another country for a wedding.

I've always been drawn to the enchanting Parisian streets, palaces and more. If I could have a shot right in front of the Eiffel tower, I would faint in happiness haha

My favorite gowns are those with a mermaid silhouette as it hugs the women's curves creating an hourglass shape. One of my favorite bridal designer is Hailey Paige since all her dresses are so ethereal and dreamy, there is not one I do not like! Not only are her dresses gorgeous, she choose the perfect model - she looks like a doll!!! Anyways, back on topic! So going through Lover.ly, I saw a lot of lace mermaid shaped dresses that I was awestruck by, but the one that I ultimately fell in love with was the Kadence dress made with ivory alencon lace that's fitted and flared at the end. What made it stood apart from the other dresses I was eyeing (such as Vera Wang's, another favorite designer of mine), was the jewel encrusted necklace and crystal detachable bolero.

I love lace, I love crystals, enough said! The shape of the detachable bolero reminded me of a butterfly spread across the shoulders. It also looks like it will help support the lovely sweetheart neckline of the strapless dress, which is always a plus for girls with smaller assets. The train was long in the back, which is what I always look for, something dramatic and trailing!

Although the shoes might be hidden most of the time, I still wanted a matching crystal shoes for the times my foot peeks out. Hey you never know! The BHLDN Crystalline Heels was the perfect match to the bolero, with the beautiful crystal clusters. It's not crazy tall at 4" so it's walkable, and the straps makes it easy to walk in.

To finish it off, I would throw on the Snow Queen crown I've made with little crystal snowflakes throughout, gives it a confident look juxtaposing with the softness of the dress. It's important to me to incorporate something I've made onto my wedding day. Now imagine this ensemble on a snowy day at the Lourve, with long airy waves flowing in the wind. The snowflakes swirling around the Lourve, making it the perfect backdrop for the perfect gown.

Now of course we can't forget important details to the outfit! Since the back of the gown is pretty low, a adhesive bra is the best. I thought one with white lace would compliment in case the gown slips downwards (hey accidents happens!), it wouldn't be noticeable as the lace will blend right in! If I'm going to be walking around on a cold day, I would throw on this soft BHLDN Sadie Wrap made of feathers, another of my favorite fabrication! It's so airy and cozy, I probably wouldn't want to take it off... but then I would to show off the crystals!

If I travel to Paris, of course I can't just bring one dress! I would bring three to shoot around the whole city. All three would be of different silhouette and mood. The high-low cut Monique Lhuillier's Garland dress is more flirty and fun, allows a bride to show off her legs. It'll be perfect to lean against a sleek car parked in a picturesque Paris street. Whereas the Vera Wang's layered ball gown is soft, airy and dreamy, perfect for spinning around under the Eiffel tower with your soon to be husband in tow.

Play up the textures of the Garland dress by creating a side loose bun, and attaching a Emilliner Bridal Lady Feather Bridal Fascinator. The different feathers and crystals will shine under the sun. As for the Vera Wang gown, it's an elegantly simple gown which gives you a canvas to add accessories to spruce it up. Cinch in the waist with Untamed Petals' Holly beaded sash made of crystals, beads and flowers. Match it up with David's Bridal Crystal Chain Headpiece with the hair down in loose romantic waves that'll twirl with you!

Ahh, I can already imagine prancing around the streets in these beautiful gowns! What is your dream destination wedding? :)

{ touch of spain } off shoulder loose ruffle dress / 100 Montaditos food review

A couple weeks back, my three good girl friends and I decided to try 100 Montaditos. Surprisingly for me, my outfit really matched the location! So of course I whipped out my camera and asked Mary to give me my photo op :P

I love the off shoulder design of the top, but because it's straight cut dress, there was no shape and hid my body. Luckily, I had just the right gold belt that went with the gold charms on the neckline. Every time I moved, it will create music, so it's a really fun dress to wear! To keep the attention to the dress, I had a simple nude shoes that paired well with the nude pink crossbody.

As the name of the store already hinted, they serve Montaditos - Spanish sandwiches, which help me name my outfit. The ruffles already reminded me of Spanish dresses, thus I thought of a touch of Spain.
I'm a cat, staring out into the world~

The menu was quite extensive and ranged from the sandwiches to salads and different appetizers. We tried two platters - Meat Lovers Collection and Black Label Collection, two appetizers and a mimosa to share amongst the three of us. Another friend joined later to help us finish because it was wayyy too much carbs! The alcohol didn't help and we all got food coma afterwards.

The sandwiches were super filling as the bread was thick and had a lot of ingredients inside. I really like how the bread was a bit crunchy, it adds to the texture. We all loved the calamari, which we finish instantly. They enjoyed the potato, but I wasn't a fan of it.

After I felt like I gained 5 pounds instantly (not a bad thing since it was tasty), we walked around SoHo to wake ourselves up and feel less guilty about devouring all those food. We hit Victoria's Secret and I had to snap the new Fearless perfume display, it's so pretty! The bottle itself is gorgeous (I'm a perfume collector!). Mary saw the wings and told me to stand in front of it haha. Then I got thirsty and found a huge bottle at Duane Reade hehehe

Since I got a kitty recently, we all went into Petco and clamored around the adoption section where I snapped away at the cute cats there. If I had a big house and lots of money I would take in more of the cute cats ; 0 ; Did I mention I love kitty paws?

{ watch your back } layering slashed back faux leather jacket

Autumn time is the perfect chance to pull out all your favorite vests and jackets to layer for new looks. I love faux leather (yay save the animals!) so I layered two faux leather pieces together for an edgy look.

I recently found Lucky21 and fell in love with this jacket right away! The marled gray body juxtaposed with the sharp, black faux leather collar is so unique. Then turn around for another unique detail - slashed back! Which reminded my bestie of my cat Tao Tao, who often slashes me, hence watch your back ;)

The jacket featured gold zipper detail around the neck so I paired it with my favorite type of bracelet and my "YSL" phone case :P All the gold reflects in the cute gold hardware of my go to heeled bootie. Can you tell I love black x gold??

If it gets too hot, I can always take off the jacket to reveal my two fabric vest - faux leather top and chiffon peplum. It hides wider hips and gives more texture to the outfit. Tie the back for a slimmer look!
