{ happy 2015! } sparkle into the new years

HAPPY 2015!!!

Sparkle into the new years! New Years Eve is the perfect time to pull out all those sequin dresses and tops you've saved all year!

I paired a sequined bustier with a high waisted midi skirt, with a slight slit for just a bit of sexiness. The rhinestone ear cuff brings is the perfect party piece, and is balanced out by a simple strappy stiletto.

I spent a nice dinner with family and watched the famous NYC ball drop. How did you guys welcome in the new year? :)

{ holiday cheer } 'tis the season for red!

Holiday is the time of year where families and friends get together for some fun and food, just quality time to take off all the stress from this year's hard work :)

On Christmas day, I put together a casual yet dressy fuzzy sweater and houndstooth skirt outfit. For my sister's holiday party, I did a more feminine look. 'Tis the season for red (as if I need a reason to wear red... it's one of my favorite colors for my skin tone)! So I chose a box pleated dress covered with cording, creating an unexpected texture and detail. To keep it from being too bare, I threw over an oversized scarf as a stole. It actually worked really well as a blanket as I curled up on the sofa watching a movie haha.

The neutral hue of the scarf, balanced well with my new studded strap flats. As much as I wanted to buy the heeled version, flats is more ideal for me, as I can't wear heels often due to a back condition :( Which explains why most of my outfits are with flats. But who cares! Who says flats can't be just as chic and cute :)

My favorite part was the cute rhinestone necklace - the V shape reflects the sweetheart neckline of the dress. To finish off, I used a dainty translucent, faceted stone surrounded by rhinestones. Since the dress itself doesn't have much details besides the coding material, I used a cream belt with gold accents to break up the red.

Selfie with my newest baby - a mint camera!
Did everyone have fun and fulfilling holiday parties? :)

Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duos - Grand Canal Swatches & Review

I've always been at awe with European architectures; their intricate designs along their walls and windows, columns and arches make the buildings so grand. Let's not even begin with their amazing art! Venice's Grand Canal is no exception - riding a gondola through the waterway surrounded by beautiful historical buildings is so romantic. In fact, it was my favorite theme of all the Vegas hotels!

It's no brainer that I would jump at the chance to try Chantecaille's newest eye shadow for their Holiday 2014 collection. The Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duos is inspired by the enchanting Venice's lights and shadows. I swatched both the Grand Canal and Piazza San Marco, but had a hard time choosing between the two beautiful colors. So my friendly beauty consultant at the Bergdorf Goodman location, Asli, applied one on each of my eye, and decided that the Grand Canal made my eye popped more because of the golden hue. She also advised me to use the sponge applicator supplied for a stronger  color.

Both colors were housed in this very reflective, metallic case with a shimmery big C and their brand below it. It's soooo gorgeous, I was so terrified to put any finger prints on it! It's definitely a beauty to display on a vanity table, or to whip out for touch ups throughout the day.

Grand Canal consists of Laguna, a flattering green gray, and Rialto, a radiant gold shadow. However against my skintone, Rialto was more silvery than gold. The shadows were domed shape like baked shadows, but the silky powder applied on gave a sheer satiny finish. It really illuminated my eyes and picked up light! It certainly is perfect for the holidays, especially the gold.

I tried it first during Thanksgiving on its own with no primer. Like it claimed, it was crease free, blendable and long lasting. I put it on around noon and went out for the pre Black Friday shopping, got home past midnight and colors were enchanting as it was in the beginning! I created a fake crease with my Nars eye pencil. Givenchy's Rose Dressing lipstick is perfect to keep the look feminine and soft.

What I liked was that the shadows were build-able, you can do a light wash for that sheer shimmer, or wear it over a primer for a standout look. Wearing over the perfect nude base, Urban Decay primer, the shadows popped even more against my eyes. Rialto showed up very metallic, almost silver like which looked beautiful against the Laguna, which appeared more metallic slate. The two complimented each other and went well with my gray outfit. I finished it off with Revlon's matte lippie Standout for a bold, night out look.

{ 2014 Christmas } red, black and white pairing

Happy holidays & merry christmas to all my friends and readers :)

It's that happy, festive time of the year! I hope everyone has a fun and safe time. What is everyone's favorite thing about the holidays? I love the joyful mood and beautiful decorations, especially all the lights!! Don't forget all the delicious family gatherings!

Red is the perfect color for today, so I paired a burgundy beret with black and white to keep it from being too cheesey :P I've been leaning towards houndstooth print lately, so I paired the houndstooth print flared skirt with my favorite furry cropped sweater and tights - thigh high printed tights. With a black heel, it elongates the legs. Photos taken by AXL Photography.

{ wild flair } outfit for a rainy day

Who says you can't dress cute for a rainy day? There are so many options for rainboots now, each one showing off your personality. Since I love intimate apparel, I of course chose one with lace up detail. To add a bit of the city girl touch (because everyone knows I loveee the rush of the city, I don't think I can live in suburbs), I wore these skyline tights. It's sooo cute.

All this dreary weather recently really calls for more happy photos :) So I'm not as serious in these shots or my little #10seclookbook. Can't be grumpy all the time like Grumpy Cat right!?

It can get real chilly on a rainy day, so be sure to keep warm with a latte. Green tea latte is my favorite! I usually don't wear green, but I love the military / olive color for autumn. It's so rich and dark, but if paired correctly can be sophisticated as well.

Under my olive trench, I wore a black lace flared dress to give it an a-line silhouette, the buckled belt helped create more shape. To balance out the blacks and greens, I cut apart my leopard circle scarf to use as a drape over the collar. Of course, lovely images by my talented, good friend Daniel Zuchnik. Although that headshot of me was taken just as a test, I loveee how he captured the golden hour glow. I'll try my best to update my blog more often! I work as a photographer and assistant stylist now so I get so tired when I'm home. Working on my new video, so be sure to check out my YouTube :)
